Abortion Recovery InterNational, Inc. is the first and only international network uniting abortion recovery efforts worldwide.

We are a Christian non-profit, affiliate assocation, dedicated to connecting and assisting like-minded abortion recovery centers, programs and services; as well as individuals working within the field.

Our goals are to:

Encourage and provide healing opportunities to those hurting after abortion.

Enlighten society on the affects of abortion on individuals and families.

Educate ourselves, and the community, through awareness opportunities, extended education, conferences and specialized training.

Establish a professional worldwide association / network of abortion recovery efforts united in mission, cohesive in nature and similar in practice.

Our membership includes: health clinics, resource centers, churches, professional therapists, peer counselors, grief and bereavement mentors, life coaches, awareness organizations, research specialists, legal experts, clergy, pro-life groups, sexual integrity and abstinence educators, as well as communities and individuals within the general public who support our efforts.

ARIN serves as a network of recovery, research, awareness and educational resources that provide information concerning after abortion issues.

Are you working in the field of Abortion Recovery?  Do you support those who are?  If so, push up your sleeves, kick off your shoes and join us!

talking points in response to the APA's statement of august 13, 2008

TALKING POINTS ON THE AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION MENTAL HEALTH AND ABORTION TASK FORCE REPORT

Abortion Recovery InterNational partners quite closely with the Silent No More Awareness Campaign.  SNMAC co-founder Georgette Forney is the ARIN Board Chairperson.  SNMAC distributed these talking points in response to the APA statement of August 13th, 2008.  We share them with you here, as they can be spoken from anyone involved in abortion recovery efforts.

ARIN supports these statement as Abortion Recovery InterNational also contacted the APA and sent documentation of the 30,000 people who contact us in 2007.  We never heard from the APA.

  • The Silent No More Awareness Campaign believes the APA Task Force report is biased and lacks credibility as a basis for setting public policy relating to women’s mental health and abortion.
  • The APA ignored the voice of women with personal abortion experience. The Silent No More Awareness Campaign sent the APA a letter signed by 633 post-abortive women (via certified mail that it claims it never received but was signed for) requesting a meeting between our and the APA’s representatives so we could share the reality of how abortion affected us psychologically. We were never contacted nor did the APA consider our testimonies.
  • We would like to know if the APA met with any representatives from pro-abortion agencies such as Planned Parenthood.
  • The APA did not have any discussions with those who provide abortion after-care counseling programs to get firsthand knowledge of the effectiveness of treatment programs.
  • The APA’s conclusions are in striking opposition to those of other international organizations and researchers [delete semi-colon] such as the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Britain, David Fergusson in New Zealand, and the University of Oslo in Norway.
  • The APA ignored the peer-reviewed studies, such as Fergusson’s and the University of Oslo’s and relied heavily on one decade-old study. It seems the APA only considered research that affirmed its pro-abortion bias.
  • The APA Task Force is made up of people who have articulated support for abortion in the past.
  • The public trusts the APA to be an organization dedicated to providing information on psychological issues that affect our physical and emotional well-being, but the group’s pre-existing bias to protect abortion rights at the expense of good mental health care advice for women calls its professionalism into question. If I were a psychologist, I would not want to belong to this agenda driven organization.
  • The APA doesn’t seem to recognize women’s ability to process data to make wise choices. It systematically ignores research that is contrary to its pro-abortion agenda.
